چکیده

Bismuth (V) was incorporated in chloramphenicol and streptomycin keeping in view of finding new antibiotics. Formed complex was evaluated for their antibacterial and cell viability activity in mice. Murine peritoneal macrophage cell lines RAW 264.7 were used for in vitro antibacterial and cytotoxicty studies of various synthesized compounds. Bactericidal activity was assessed by Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of various compounds against different bacterial strains. Antibacterial activity of T-IV was found highest among all treatments given followed by T-III. Metal-ligand administered group showed comparatively higher in vitro cell viability than standard drug streptomycin. It was concluded that metal drug complex may have better antibiotic activity than parent antibiotics alone.

Novel Isatin-based activator of p53 transcriptional functions in tumor cells

Bioinorganic medicinal chemistry remains a hot field for research aimed at developing novel anti-cancer treatments. Discovery of metal complexes as potent antitumor chemotherapeutics such as cisplatin led to a significant shift of focus toward organometallic/ bioinorganic compounds containing transition metals and their chelates as novel scaffolds for drug discovery. In that way, transition met...

Novel triphenylantimony(V) and triphenylbismuth(V) complexes with benzoic acid derivatives: structural characterization, in vitro antileishmanial and antibacterial activities and cytotoxicity against macrophages.

Two novel organoantimony(V) and two organobismuth(V) complexes of the type ML2 were synthesized, with L = acetylsalicylic acid (HL1) or 3-acetoxybenzoic acid (HL2) and M = triphenylantimony(V) (M1) or triphenylbismuth(V) (M2). Complexes, [M1(L1)2] (1), [M1(L2)2]∙CHCl3 (2), [M2(L1)2], (3) and [M2(L2)2] (4), were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR. Crystal structures of triphenylanti...
